Windrush School - Where Minds Flourish
Library

Windrush Library

The library is now in the second year of occupying a beautiful new space overlooking the Bay. We are continuously growing our 9000-volume collection of books, and working to enhance the academic program and lives of our students. Our print and electronic resources were selected to support the curriculum as well as to provide materials for personal choice and exploration for the entire range of students Kindergarten through Eighth grade. Building on this foundation, we are moving towards creating a dynamic digital library as a collaborative community project.

The aspiration of the school library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information as guided by the Windrush School mission and core values. The role of the school library media specialist includes collaborating with teachers to integrate information, technology, and research skills into the curriculum, as well as motivating and guiding students to appreciate literature and reading. The goal is to empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.
