I. Pedagogical Framework
At Windrush School, our learning targets and goals are based on California’s state content standards. The Windrush Strategic Plan states: “Subject matter standards are high to challenge students to reach for excellence. They also strategically position students to succeed in competitive environments.”
Progressive Principles guide our teaching and learning. This means that curricula is integrated in an authentic way; learning is assessed in a variety of ways; and different learning styles and multiple intelligences are valued. The Windrush Strategic Plan states: “Collaboration and cooperating are central in teaching and learning. A full educational program must include the development of social and emotional skills.” In short, the whole child is affirmed at Windrush School.
