Events

The Windrush community looks forward to a wide variety of special events scheduled throughout the year. The Windrush Parent Association (WPA) hosts an annual fall picnic and puts on a Gala auction each spring. The WPA also invites educational professionals to speak at their monthly meetings. Parents cheer at the Halloween Parade and root for Middle School sports teams. Grandparents and family friends have a special day to visit before Thanksgiving. Back to School Night, the Middle School Science Fair, K-8 Open House and Art Opening, Winter Sing, and the Elementary Spring Performance highlight student achievement in academics and the arts. Each year students, parents, and teachers come together to explore a subject in-depth at Family Curriculum Night. Recent topics have included mathematics and science. Our Diversity Committee provides forums for dialog on key aspects of diversity, including a popular film series. Moving Up Day (for K-4th), 5th Grade Graduation, and Middle School Commencement ceremonies mark the end of each school year.
