Windrush School is excited to announce our spring fundraiser, “A Gala for Gaia” at 6 pm on April 24, 2010 at Preservation Park in Oakland, California. “A Gala for Gaia” honors the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and Windrush School’s core values of Excellence, Authenticity, Inspiraton, Community Engagement and Sustainability. We ask you to join us in celebrating the living organism (Gaia) that breathes life into thousands of cultures, millions of species, and the amazing world surrounding us.
Our keynote speaker will be Rebecca Walker, an award-winning speaker, teacher and bestselling author. Her books include Baby Love: Choosing Motherhood After a Lifetime of Ambivalence, and Black, White and Jewish: Autobiography for a Shifting Self. She has appeared on the Today Show, Charlie Rose, CNN, ABC News, Good Morning America and Oprah. Time Magazine named her one of the 50 most influential leaders of her generation.
