7^th Science overview

The seventh grade science course emphasizes the importance and excitement of scientific inquiry both inside and outside of class.   Your student will be motivated to develop or maintain the belief that science is understandable, practical, and fun, while also laying the groundwork for future study in science.  After the Windrush program, my hope is that students will find the subject exciting, worth exploring, and will be at ease with the language and procedures of scientific experimentation.

The seventh grade curriculum, like the California state standards, focuses on life sciences.  We will investigate a few topics in physical sciences, mostly as they relate to living systems, such as the physics of light and sound and the structures of the eye and ear, or the chemistry of food and nutrition.
