About 7th Grade Language Arts - 7Y

Welcome to Language Arts 7!

The seventh grade Language Arts course is aligned with the California State Standards, and is designed to build confidence and skill in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.  Over the course of the year, students will take on roles as linguists, playwrights, authors, orators, actors, critics, poets, and singers.  Students will work with poems, plays, essays, short stories, myths, and films, many of which have strong interdisciplinary connection to the social studies curriculum.

  • Neither This nor That by Aliya Husain
  • Collection of Various African Myths
  • The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
  • The Sign of the Chrysanthemum by Katherine Paterson
