Preparing Our Students for the 

21st Century with a Broader Vision of Success 

in High School, College, and Beyond

 

A recent trend shows that young people today are more than ever concerned with grades, test scores, rankings, and prestigious colleges.  They are also undergoing unprecedented amounts of stress – particularly regarding college admission – that is seriously affecting their physical and mental well-being 

as well as their engagement with learning.

 

During a time of shrinking educational resources and great financial uncertainty, what can we as parents do to help our children?  

 

Join Martha Black, former Windrush parent and college advisor 

in exploring the college admission formula – as well as its pitfalls - and discussing the recommendations from 

the Challenge Success project 

of Stanford’s School of Education.

Hello Alumni! Whether you graduated last year or many years ago, we treasure hearing from you and would love to see you. We're sure a stroll around campus will evoke some great memories.

Please keep us informed of what you and your family are doing and we will work toward helping you stay connected with your classmates. Let us know your latest contact information plus any news about school, jobs, marriage, births or travel.

WASA

Windrush is pleased to announce the first annual Windrush Alumni Service Award WASA). One of Windrush School’s core values centers around the importance of contributing to community through service. We’ve observed that the middle school service learning program has inspired many of our alumni to pursue service projects beyond the Windrush experiences. We want to recognize the outstanding achievements of our alumni and inspire the current school community through the experiences of those who have gone before them. So many of our former students have made contributions of their time and resources to help others. Let us know about it! Be a part of the selection process by nominating an alumnus who has gone out and made a difference in the world. The honoree will be featured in an article in “Connections”, appear as a guest speaker at a school assembly in Winter 2009-2010 and receive a $500 award to be donated to the cause of the honoree’s choice. You can fill out a nomination form online or download a copy and return it to Windrush School Alumni Outreach 1800 Elm Street, El Cerrito, CA 94520. We will be accepting nominations through June 1st, 2009.
