Blue rockfish

These fish eat floating animals like shrimp.

They can grow up to 21 inches long and swim in groups among the kelp. For defense against getting eaten, it has poisonous spikes on some of its scales.Their color ranges from a dark blue to a brownish black. Even though they aren't edible, people fish for them as a sport. Blue rockfish live in the kelp forest for part of their lives.They also live in the Pacific ocean.It is related to the spiny rockfish.
